Career Development

Each year, the CMS counselors host a Career Day, during which students can learn about the many careers available to them.  Professionals from various careers are invited to our school to share information with our students.  If you or someone you know can volunteer as a speaker for Career Day, please contact the Counseling Office at (225) 261-3804.

In the fall, all 8th grade students take ACT's Explore test, which helps students explore their career choices and plan for the future.  The test results also give a prediction of how students will perform on the PLAN test in high school.

The Explore test website explains the test, the results, and provides helpful career planning information. http://www.actstudent.org/explore/
