Biography

As a 2016 Central High School graduate, I am thrilled to be back home and joining the CCSS family in a new way as a 7th grade math teacher! In May 2020 I graduated from Loyola University New Orleans with a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics where I also completed the Secondary Teaching Certification Program. For the 2019-2020 school year I worked through my year-long residency at New Orleans Charter Science and Math High School where I taught 10th grade Algebra II. In my four years at Loyola, I played NAIA Division 1 volleyball where I was able to develop my leadership and management skills serving as the 2019 team captain. Along with my passion for teaching, I have a sincere love for coaching which I have done over the last 8 years as a volunteer in the Central Community and a head coach for a New Orleans club team. I will be joining the Central High School Volleyball coaching staff this year as well. Being a student-athlete and coach has taught me the importance of being driven, goal-oriented, and self-disciplined which are aspects that I plan to encourage in my classroom in order to support the well-rounded growth of all my students. I understand the uniqueness of each child's learning styles and I can't wait to find creative and challenging ways that motivate them to love math in a way they never thought they could!
