Saturday, March 4th the CMS Track Team competed in their first meet.

In the 100 Meters - Davonte Sanders set a new 1st place school record of 11.60 in the 100 meter along with Kyle Brownfield’s 12.23 for a 5th overall school record.   Armonie Talbert ran a 14.32 for a 4th place school record. 

Marvin Joseph set a new 1st place school record of 25.41 in the 200 meters. 

Phillips Watts set a new 1st place school record of 12:22 in the 3200 meters- 2 mile and recorded a 2nd place finish in the 1600 meters. On the girls side, Erin Jackson and Kate Hollowell earned personal records in the 1600 to help represent CMS!

Gabby Badulescu recorded a 1st place school record in the discus with a throw of 58’1”

Additionally, Fayden Brown set a personal record of 14.08 in the 100m hurdles and ran successful legs on Saturday’s relays. 

Elise Leblanc jumped a personal best and a 4th place school record of 10’ 7”

Jaydon Garnett earned first place in the shot put with a throw of 42’ 3” which is also a new school first place record and 2nd place in discus with a throw of 102’ 8”.

All of the relay events were exciting, but a special shoutout goes to the boys of the 4x400 relay team anchored by Davone Sanders with an exciting come from behind win to clinch the 1st place finish. 

The boys walked away with a 2nd place trophy for the first meet of the year!

Our next meet will be Tuesday, March 14th - please come out and support the team at Brusly High School.
